Coming soon: First 3D porn film?

Caligula director Tinto Brass has decided to make the first 3D porn film, it has emerged.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the helmer plans to “revisit an abandoned project about a Roman emperor that was ruined by Americans”, hinting that the film may be a remake of Caligula.

The plot revolves around the life of Roman Emperor Gaius Caesar Germanicus, popularly known as Caligula.

The earlier film starring Helen Mirren was in collaboration between Brass and the Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione.

However, they fell out over the final cut, with Guccione secretly adding a number of explicit sexual scenes in post-production, reports the BBC News.

The shooting of the new film, the first 3D film to be made in Italy, is scheduled to begin in May.

China suppresses ‘’subversive” Avatar

James Cameron’’s ”Avatar” may soon be stopped from screening in China, as the authorities apparently feel the movie is subversive.

Seemingly, the state-run China Film Group has demanded cinemas across the country to stop showing the 2-D version of Avatar from January 23 on orders from Beijing’’s propaganda chiefs.

The Government reportedly is wary the citizens of the country may find similarity with Avatar’’s Na”vi people, who fight to save their planet from humans.

The link may exist at the level of residents who get in the way of property developers.

Hong Kong’’s Apple Daily said: “Reportedly, the authorities have two reasons for this check on Avatar: first, it has taken in too much money and has seized market share from domestic films, and second, it may lead audiences to think about forced removal, and may possibly incite violence.”

A multiple-screen cinema, in the southern city of Wuxi, has promised to refund the tickets booked for shows after January 23, reports Times Online.

It said in a notice: “We ask for your understanding! To satisfy the viewing needs of the audience, the cinema will add midnight showings from the 21st and 22nd. Grab them quickly.”

Earlier, the film was supposed to stay in cinemas until February 28.
